Panama, April 07, 2025. Promoting economic development and improving the quality of life of communities near the mine and downtown areas, Cobre Panama launches Cobre Emprende, a program aimed at entrepreneurs seeking to strengthen their businesses.

This project seeks to benefit, in total, 500 entrepreneurs in the communities of Donoso, Coclesito, La Pintada and Panama City, and aims to provide practical tools and specialized training to those who, although they are already working with small initiatives, need the structure, knowledge and support necessary to grow and achieve long-term sustainability.

Over 32 hours of training, participants will learn key topics including business planning, financial management, digital marketing strategies, legal formalization, and much more. This space, focused on improving current businesses, promotes the development of essential skills so that entrepreneurs can be more competitive and profitable.

“We want to offer them the necessary tools so they can manage their finances efficiently, structure their business properly and develop strategies that will help them reach more customers. Cobre Emprende is an exclusive opportunity for entrepreneurs to improve their opportunities and expand their businesses,” added Maru Gálvez, Communications Manager of Cobre Panamá.

Close to 100 entrepreneurs from the communities of La Pintada and Omar Torrijos Herrera (Coclesito) are participating in the first stage of this program, which runs from April 7 to 11, 2025. Those who complete the training receive personalized accompaniment to digitize and formalize their businesses. In the coming months, the program will be extended to Donoso and Panama City, benefiting more entrepreneurs.

This initiative arises in response to the request of communities that wish to grow their businesses, and Cobre Panama, committed to the social development of the communities, not only seeks to contribute to local economic development, but also to generate a positive social impact that benefits the communities.
