Panama, October 08, 2024 – Cobre Panama, through Cobre Conecta, was present at the Third Edition of the Panama Chess Festival.
In this event, organized by Chess Logistic Panama, a chess academy, around 600 children from Panama, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Mexico and Trinidad and Tobago participated.
In addition to promoting the practice of chess in a competitive and recreational way, it was a family space, with artistic and cultural events; discussions for all ages, where attendees were also able to learn first-hand about environmental issues, learn about the importance of copper in daily life and see models that explained the operation of the Mine.
The Virtual 360 Tour and the representatives of the Donoso La Pintada Cooperative (DONLAP), with its La Ceiba coffee, an artisanal coffee that emerged as a venture of 8 families in the midst of the pandemic in 2020 and was part of the mine’s reforestation program, complemented the participation of Cobre Panama.
Cobre Conecta reaffirms Cobre Panama’s commitment to transparency, which through these spaces seeks to resolve concerns and generate a dialogue on responsible mining.
