Cobre Panama joins the Canada Day commemoration

Panama, July 1, 2023 – The Canadian Embassy in Panama, under the slogan “Canada al Natural”, celebrated Canada Day with the participation of representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Panama, government authorities, representatives of Canadian companies and with the support of Cobre Panama.

During the celebration, the importance of the actions taken by the Canadian government to strengthen connections with Panama was highlighted.

Her Excellency Kim Ursu, Canada’s ambassador to Panama, emphasized in her speech that in the mining sector, Canada is proud to work with Panama on projects of immense importance to the local economy and the creation of high-paying jobs.

“To ensure the protection and prosperity of the environment and the communities involved, we have shared best practices with Panama, cooperated in training and supported the adoption of standards towards Sustainable Mining” concluded Ursu.

Keith Green, Country Manager of Cobre Panama, expressed his congratulations to the Canadians living in the country and reaffirmed the mining company’s commitment to continue mining responsibly and sustainably with its more than 7,300 employees, of which more than 90% are Panamanians.
