More than 90% of Cobre Panama’s employees are Panamanians.

Panama, July 21, 2023 – With the objective of helping more Panamanians, especially residents of Cocle and Colon, find job opportunities, Cobre Panama participated yesterday in a Job Fair organized by the Ministry of Labor and Labor Development (MITRADEL), in Penonome. The mining company currently has 150 vacancies in various areas.

During this activity, in which more than 700 people participated, the MITRADEL team guided job seekers to securely register their personal data on its platform www.empleospanama.gob.pa. According to the platform’s data, 1286 people registered.

According to Alfredo Mitre, MITRADEL’s National Director of Employment, “A day of registration and training was held for the correct use of this portal, which allows them to access the vacancies of the company Cobre Panama, which are already registered”.

Katherine Reinosa, Recruitment Supervisor of Cobre Panama, indicated that “it is very important that all those who wish to apply for vacancies enter the platform and fill out the data clearly and completely, so that we can contact them if they enter the selection process”.

It is important to note that 67% of Cobre Panama’s workers are from the interior of the country, which translates directly into the economic development of the region.

Cobre Panama contributes with the generation of jobs in the areas near the mine, offering better jobs, better income, and above all, contributing to reduce the inequality of opportunities that existed with the capital of the country.
