Panama, July 25, 2023 – Cobre Panama supported the XII Sports Forum “Changing lives through sports”, organized by the Panamanian Association of Business Executives (APEDE), an important space for dialogue and exchange of experiences and initiatives to strengthen sports in the country in a comprehensive manner.

Keith Green, Country Manager of Cobre Panama, stated that “For more than a decade, Cobre Panama has supported and sponsored various sports programs, covering disciplines such as soccer, basketball and of course baseball, in children’s, youth and professional leagues, because we are convinced that, through sports, not only health, values and peaceful coexistence are promoted, but also have a positive impact on the integral development of individuals, their families and communities”.

Cobre Panama believes in sports as a tool for social development, which is evidenced by the sports projects that the company has supported in the communities, among them: the Soccer World Cup in Panama and the Basketball World Cup in Colón, as well as its contribution to help young baseball players from Aguadulce travel to the United States to represent the country.

In addition, the mining company has sponsored Little League baseball and soccer teams and has provided sports equipment to basketball teams in Penonomé.

It has also provided sponsorship to federations and teams such as the Panamanian Baseball Federation (FEDEBEIS), the Panamanian Professional Baseball League (PROBEIS), the team La Leña Roja de Coclé, Los Correcaminos de Colón and Árabe Unido de Colón.
