Cobre Panama congratulates Coclesito on its 53rd Anniversary and reiterates its commitment with the communities

Panama, August 8, 2023 – Coclesito, head of the Omar Torrijos Herrera Special District in the province of Colon, commemorated on August 8 its 53rd anniversary of foundation.

As is traditional, residents and visitors had the opportunity to enjoy a Folklore, Craft and Agricultural Fair and the Water Buffalo Festival.

In addition, for the first time, the Coclesito Professional and Technical Institute Music Band was presented, with the support of Cobre Panama. With an investment of more than 16 thousand balboas, the mining company donated all the percussion instruments, wind instruments and lyres, in addition to providing a teacher to train the elementary and middle school students. The Coclesito school did not have a music band and, after almost a year of preparation, the students made their debut at the commemoration ceremony.

Erasmo Sánchez, representative of the township of San José del General (Coclesito) congratulated the entire population and thanked the visitors for sharing with them this special date since “it is a source of pride to be able to commemorate another year”.

Cobre Panama joined in congratulating the people of Coclesito and reiterated its commitment to the development and well-being of its inhabitants, carrying out projects that contribute to improving their quality of life.
