Panama, September 26, 2024 – Cobre Panama, as part of its commitment to transparency and with the purpose of maintaining close communication with the communities, is developing, starting Friday, September 27, the “Cobre Conecta” initiative, a traveling exhibition.
The objective of this tour is to provide information directly to the communities, with content on modern responsible mining practices and their benefits.
The tour will start in the community of Molejones and then move on to other communities such as San Juan de Turbe, Villa de Carmen and La Pintada. In this itinerant tour, the neighbors of the communities near the mine will have the opportunity to ask questions and will be provided with information about the use of copper in daily life, its importance in environmental conservation and sustainable development.
In addition, thanks to technology, attendees will be able to get an up-close look at the mine’s facilities and processes through the 360 Virtual Tour, an interactive environment where they can take a 3D tour.
“Cobre Panama reaffirms its willingness to continue promoting spaces for the exchange of information and constructive dialogue with the communities,” said Deydi Araúz, manager of citizen outreach programs.
This initiative is part of Cobre Panama’s commitment to maintain close communication with the communities surrounding the mine, promoting mutual understanding and sustainable development in the region.
